As the Production Manage you are accountable for achievement of key operational goals aligned with Key Business Objectives.  In this role contributes and influences development and executes the operational strategy utilizing highly skilled specialists or managers. The Production Manager has influence on key factors of operating income as it relates to significant levels of budgeted human, capital and material resources.

  • Manage production at standard cost for assigned product lines, assuring product availability within established back order and service level goals. Direct departmental programs and activities to maintain and continuously improve product quality standards. Coordinate technical problem resolution with support departments.Support and/or drive cost reductions, productivity and quality improvement goals.  
  • Define programs for supervision which determine their objectives in these areas
  • Control manufacturing variances and spending within plan, actively promoting a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Drive the accurate and effective use of SAP system including production transactions, inventory control, financial control, and master data. Assist in the preparation of all required planning and strategy documents to include annual budgets, re-forecasts, capacity analysis, business plans, variance analysis, personnel reviews.
  • Promote worker safety through education, environment, continuous improvement, and individual accountability.Assure uniform compliance to Good Manufacturing Procedures and Quality Assurance Policies and goals assigned to associates.Assure supervision maintains excellent housekeeping, meeting all QA standards.
  • Prepare requested documentation to meet FDA, OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements.Assist/manage additional company projects/programs as assigned.

Minimum Qualification
  • BS Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or Business is required.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years progressive leadership experience in operations management and supervision within the medical diagnostics industry or food industry.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad knowledge of high performance manufacturing, regulatory requirements, process validation concepts and techniques, product knowledge, as well as plant and business finance is required.
  • Experience in the Medical Diagnostics Industry and/or Media is preferred.Knowledge and experience with the Quality system or equivalent is preferred.·          
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, values, ability to seek input from others, ability to relinquish control, knowledge of customer needs.
  • A thorough knowledge of systems, both manual and computerized.  
  • Broad knowledge of regulatory requirements, manufacturing and the industry.Ability to work with all levels of personnel from company president to production associates.  
  • Ability to plan at a high level, but execute at the detail level.Understanding of SAP preferred.Financial background in product costing and budget control preferred.Demonstrate core values.
  • Previous leadership experience in Reagent manufacture including Microbiology such as identification and antimicrobic susceptibility manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience should include the management of both hourly and exempt populations.
