In support of the ongoing communications strategies, the Director will work with the communications staff and content experts to ensure that strategies are successfully executed across multiple communication channels and across all sites. Ensures that specific messages are aligned with the hospital’s vision and with other messages.  Drives strategic communications planning and counsels operational areas in identifying effective communication opportunities in the delivery of critical information across all campuses, including the regional hospital network.  Oversees communications planning for key hospital initiatives, hospital regulatory visits – Joint Commission, DOH, etc. and construction activities impacting patients. Works closely with Chief of Staff to manage crisis communications, when needed and works to ensure that Communications function is represented in planning for all Hospital-wide initiatives. In partnership with Marketing and Patient Centered Care develops patient information.

 Required:
  • B.A. or B.S. in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of Communications
  • Ability to think creatively, problem solve, plan, and operationalize plans across multiple sites
  • Ability to effectively interact with senior leadership and interface with all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage staff in detail-oriented, team based, and deadline driven environment
  • Excellent computer skills, including Power-Point
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
