Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Job Description :

This position will be performed as a member of the Technology Solutions Development (TSD) research, development, test, and evaluation organization within the DoD Cyber Crime Center, a federal cyber center. The position will also work in close coordination with the Cyber Forensics Lab, DC3 Analytic Group, and DIB Collaborative Information Sharing Environment directorates. The candidate will be primarily focused on developing and implementing continuous integration and infrastructure as code practices to support DevOPs at DC3. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong understanding of automated testing (unit and integrated). The candidate should have experience designing and implementing DevOps workflows and working with capabilities such as JIRA, Gitlab continuous integration, and Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack. The candidate should be familiar with software development of integrated web-based workflow management systems and have a strong understanding of JavaScript web page development and SQL databases.
Basic Qualifications :
• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Electrical Engineering
• Candidate must have more than 5 recent (i.e. less than 2 years removed) years of experience in a software engineering or information technology role
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
• Programming skills in one of the following languages: PHP, Javascript, Angular, C#
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies
• Experience with the software development lifecycle to include requirements definition and unit testing
• Must have a minimum of a U.S. Secret Security clearance (Interim Secret is acceptable); TS/SCI is preferred
 
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
